Thanksgiving

I am looking foward to Thanksgiving
the stuffing and pumkin pie
Put my share of turkey in ketchup
and let it lay there

"Go on, eat your turkey" my parents insist
I should eat it all but
the turkey lays there- pale with white meat.
I will not eat it!
It can grow cold, then be rewarmed,
for someone else, not me.

I will never eat it
even if I am really hungry.
The entire family at Thanksgiving dinner
can eat it all themselves!
