A poem about a broken heart repairing itself. |
| It burns The flames in our hearts Burn just like that of a real fire Love as wood The flames receding when they have no wood to feed on And reaching high into the sky when new wood is added, When new love comes. The sad points in life, Times when you feel your heart breaking, Are just the flames breaking down a piece of wood The log falling over, too weak to stand. But, when we are at our happiest moments That fire is so bright and so strong That it warms our very souls -- inside and out Roasting marshmallows and laughing with the ones we love most. You just have to remember to keep the fire going Even when it's cold outside, make sure to find new wood Because if you don't Your flame will go out And you may not be able to start it up again. And in that simple act, your life can change In a heartbeat In a breath In a blink. There are few second chances in life So make sure to make the best of the first one you have And live. |
