The personification
of biblical myth: Lucifer!
The true Satan incarnate.
Dressed – Strict and strong
Swastika on the shoulder.
He stands tall, On guard –
right beside the furnace.
A hatred burns,
reflected in his eyes
while he watches,
basking in the heat.
While in a near window:
images of a terrible day;
dull, numbing grey skies,
air so hot, humid that
a sticky burnt stench
can almost stain it black.
The day was fit for hell.
And then a ‘bloody miracle’
The nazi guard looks out
at a chilling sight to see –
It’s 38 Degrees outside,
and snowing.
