Prompt: This month's prompt is based on Spring (there will not be an image this month). With the Vernal Equinox knocking at our doors, let's pay homage to the natural changes widely seen around the globe. People throughout time have honored the seasonal shift from long nights to longer days. With that in mind, write a poem that evokes images, smells, sounds, sights, and tactile memories of Spring. Let your senses wander through all of the stimuli we readily absorb during this fabulous time of year. A ruba'i is a four-line poem following a specific meter, in which lines one, two, and four follow the same rhyme pattern. (In some cases, all four lines rhyme.) You could also extend yourself and complete multiple ruba'i, known as a rubaiyat (although this is not required). |
