You were there in the beginning
But I didn’t know

You taught me bliss and despair
And I never thanked you
You were my voice of reason
Yet, I didn’t listen

When the world became dark
You promised a bright day
When I fell to pieces
You put me back together

You never left my side
But I didn’t know

Finally I hit rock bottom
I was ashamed to face you
Finally I understand I need you
I gave up and let you in

Nobody knows how much I hurt you,
Except for me.
Nobody knows how much love you gave,
