Visiting the darker side of mind

What is real and imaginary
it is here I land
to write and ponder

Behind the eyes of what
makes this man
hidden behind shields
of
good nature
virtual honesty
while knowing
it's not my total truth

If they only knew the truth
behind these
                    smiling gentle eyes.
