Worthless

Just a few words can cause such pain

The power of a word - 'worthless' is anything but,
The crow digs in its claws, and feasts on the darkness,
Fear, doubt, self-hatred, until only a shell remains,
An apple hollowed by greedy maggots and left to rot,
To the amusements of snakes with their venomous tongues,
Exploiting fragile innocence and human weakness,
As the skin breaks, the blood flows like so many tears,
And the abyss threatens to swallow up the light.
