Angel's Flight

I went into her room today
and I cried in her memory.
I remember all she did for me
and I remember that day she left

One year ago today.
The day she flew away.
and left me here to stay.

That day
I walked into her room
only to see her gone and her window open.
a single feather on the bed along with a note saying
"I wait for you in paradise."

Five years ago today
The day she flew away
and left me to stay.

I miss her so much
I cry every night.
My Angel is gone
and I have to wait to get her back

Twenty years ago today
the day she flew away
and left me to stay.

I'm getting old and wary.
Soul tired and heart crying.
I don't know how much longer I can push on.

Fifty years ago today
The day she flew away
and left me to stay

I can hear her calling my name.
I feel like I'm flying.
I think I'm finally dying.
I finally will see her again.
finally will see my Angel again
