Poised in my thoughts
I paused to say
the words I still had left inside
before I thought them all away

Ticking over
distilling time
describing them like carving wood
before I blew my thoughts away

I tied them up
so carefully
neat & tidy for all to see
unopened parcel that I made

I pray you hear
my prayer so soft
resigned and tilt my head above
the only balm to restless thoughts. ~
