Innocent Awakening

When "...Darkness dreams a day to smile..."

The dew burdened bud,

Its pale pink unblossomed*,

Petals kiss in prayer

Embracing the heart

Unacquainted by sunlight.

Wrapped in sepals, clad,

Darkness dreams a day to smile.

The breeze temps with whispers

Teasing the tendril’s sides.

The unbloomed* sways unscathed

In slumber,

Waiting on time to reveal itself.



*According to a lot of spell checkers, these words don't exist. I've had classmates read this and they don't have a problem with them, but I'm curious.
