My Hope

Poetry. A life altering moment...

The presence of God in your daily walk
To comfort and always guide
To lead you forever on righteousness’ path
And forever be by your side.

The faith of Jabez, the patience of Job,
And Solomon’s wisdom, too.
Good health and blessings for all of your life
Is what I desire for you.

My hopes and my dreams I thought were fulfilled
‘Til I looked into your eyes
Up to that moment I never had felt
Such love—Oh, quite a surprise!

Your tiny helplessness melted my heart
As you stretched and moved about
Newborn and fragile, a small little pearl,
Precious without any doubt.

Protective instinct, primeval, I know
Filled innermost parts of me
I prayed to my Father, to give me strength
Your stalwart safeguard to be.

My existence has changed from this moment.
By a gift from God above.
A miniature bundle from Heaven
Taught me the meaning of love.
