Resignation

Just a few bitter thoughts I need to vent.

I forfeit the human race,
preferring to wander alone down bramble ridden paths,
soft and silent treading
to spy the wild things.

Filthy looks of fleeting strangers,
unwarranted attacks from cossetted bipedal whelps,
nations demanding their men renounce the finest tenets of honor.

The constant assault on my tolerance has succeeded in exhausting that small resource,
and so I tender my resignation
