Reflection

When life takes all you have.

In those quiet moments of sad reflection
Demons come to tear away the veneer of happiness
Hiding in the barren plains of my soul
Revealing the abyss of loss that this life truly is.

Blood is thicker than water.
Hate more selfish than love.
Pride is stronger than them all.
Yet even the strong will fall.

Without my Pride.
I am nothing at all.
Without my wife.
I have nothing at all.
