A poem about unrequited love with references to nature |
| Winter Wind Distant voices carried over snow Whisper of spring two years past When felicity blossomed, long ago And my bliss was unsurpassed The pale moon, cast high above Shines no hope amidst this winter chill Of another spring to return my love And revive that summer thrill Fate has blown me to this aching place Conspired with the wind to cause me pain To see her eyes upon that gorgeous face And know my love will always be in vain Eternal winter lies in my heart Along with spring, my joy will part With my love, and lust, my favorite sin And vanish in the icy, winter wind. |
