The Wave

Silence can actually be very loud.

The silence
is almost
too loud.
A wave
of emptiness
soars up
to the top
of the room
where I
am
alone.
And then
it crashes
down upon
me.
It roars
like a
wave
in the ocean
as it descends
down upon
me.
I cringe,
fighting
the noise,
trying to stop it
from collapsing
down upon
me.
Desperate,
I want to
turn down
the volume,
but there
would be
no sense
in that
as the room
is
completely
utterly
fantastically
silent
down upon
me.
