Life

I wrote this while pondering the ups and downs of Life.

I wonder if it’s worth the trouble
Life that is…
with all it’s ups and downs
shattered dreams and heartaches
smiles that turn to frowns
the twists and turns it takes.

The ways things change
I don’t like changes…
things that should have stayed the same
in their cozy, comfortable way
it’s like a crazy game
that people sometimes play.

I remember the good times
the happy days…
when everything seemed alright
when there was laughter and fun
smiles from morn ‘til night
contentment when day was done.

I guess I need to accept
to keep my sanity…
that it’s not right to expect
all things to stay
the same and not always correct
for them to go my way.

So help me Lord, I pray
each and every day
to realize that good
will always be
will unfold the way it should
when You oversee.
