A short, sweet poem about a girl waiting for her lover. |
| I lie sadly beneath the autumn trees and wait for your return. My fingers stroke the smoothness of the grass. I stare blindly into the velvet night sky, waiting for you to once again embrace me with your mighty arms, warm me with your kindly face, and strengthen me with your powerful voice, but the night grows cold and the moon rises high. I am engulfed in its pale, gentle rays. Where have you gone? When will you return? When will you come to take away this grief, to take away this suffering? I lie sadly beneath the autumn trees, forever awaiting your return. |
