Poetry of disillusionment and bitterness |
| I swiftly came upon the roses of gentle bliss and sudden charm. Their thorns cut deep into my heart and yet I felt they meant no harm. For how could beauty cause pain? And how could sweetness turn sour? And who would deem love a game? And who could elude its strange power? I smiled upon the dreams of past – Mind-haunting memories of sorrow. Eternal love which could not last And promises so swiftly turned so hollow... |
