Distance Friendship

This poetry is for a very special friend of mine.

You blew my mind, and you touched my heart.
When I knew your position, it hit me hard.
You can't be around me, and we're far apart; but baby,
We'll keep on writing as time departs.


I am your sunshine, and you're my ray.
Every single day I hope and pray,
That you're safe and protected in every way,
My care and concern will always stay.


Only your words keep me close to you,
And I hope you feel my words, too.
For whenever I'm feeling blue,
I will read those letters, through and through.


Once, I felt you in person, face to face.
I gazed and smiled, at the empty space.
Suddenly you're gone without a trace,
You're one and only; there's no replace.


Thought you're far away and confined,
Please try your best to unwind.
Put those memories far behind,
And place me right there in your mind.
