| Roses There is holiness in the roses Making their mid-day poses Their graceful notions And subtle motions Add perfume to the air, Enticing lovers to dare, To linger, while they have the chance To share a summer day romance. Rose garden philosophers Sit quietly writing verse, Or meander along the rows, In admiration of the rose; The flower that can best express Love's passion and tenderness. God planned roses with women in mind And where they grow I can always find A spot of beauty, a touch of grace, A reminder of another place When I give roses to convey Words that I neglected to say. Roses speak with an elegant style To open a door and bring a smile; The perfect present as anyone knows For one who is as lovely as a rose |
