Around The Table

I sit around the table, I absorb the feeling of happiness cause this can be the last one.

Around the table my family and I converse
My older brother is also around the table when he doesn't want to be
My younger sister tells us about her day
My father also tells us about his long and tedious day at work
As we all listen reluctantly


My mother nags as she always does
Instructing us to eat our vegetables
Or not to put our elbows on the table


And I sit their and listen and enjoy the time we spend together
Because I know that we will not always have the chance to sit around the table
