"The First Time"

An opening line to a story I am yet to write

"Whoever said the first time is never the best was dead wrong.
The first time and every time since has been beyond anything I could have ever imagined"

This is a sentence that I have head in my head since college if not since high school. I I like it because it makes the reader think of intimacy/a sexual relationship - but I would like to turn it into a story about intimacy but not necessarily intimacy between two people but rather between a person and something that satisfies their soul.
