The pastor of my church decided it was time for retirement and this was my reaction.

I heard you from day one
Listened to your teachings.
I heard the passion in your voice
I knew that you believed,
every word you said.
Sixteen years of Sundays
come and gone
just to be told you're leaving us,
destroying all my plans.
I thought you'd marry me
to the young devoted man I chose.
I thought you'd be there
every sunday still
teaching my children what you taught me.
But now I know
you're leaving us
destroying all my plans.
