Almost Disaster

Before something bad happened

One bright early morning
the straighter was hot
when I put my hair between
it hit the spot

curls were gone
straight hair was back
holding the phone to my ear
i  heard a crack

the flat iron was falling
straight for my lag
there went my cup
it would have landed with a peg.

lucky i caught it
before it fell
and to my mom i will never tell.
