think about it, were connected to everything

look around
connections are everywhere

a tree is a blaze
as I walk by
children screaming
as I do nothing about it

look around
connections are everywhere

in that same tree
there is a cat
“please mister save my cat”
a little girl says
I do nothing about it

Look around
connections are everywhere

as I start
to walk
away
I hear even more screaming
Besides the cat in the tree
I see a woman
She is screaming for help
I look over my shoulder
And realize
I know her
She is my wife
I run back to the tree
I couldn’t
Make it
In time

The tree
burns to the ground
as I breath in my wife’s ash
I feel someone tugging on my
shirt
I look
Down
It’s the little girl
I look down at her
And she says
“I tried to warn you about your wife”
“you said it was your cat not my wife”
I reply

Walking away
I Hear
Her say
“look around”
“connections are everywhere”
