I can't help

a poem for a friend in need.

Six months since I last saw your face
though you say you feel better in this new place
you've changed so much I don't even know you anymore
I feel as though I broke every promise I ever swore
I can't even help you in your time of need
but my problems don't matter as you sit there and bleed
all I can do is remember you when
hoping and waiting to see you again
wanting you to once more be a close friend
all I ever needed was to care and comprehend
but along with the distance between us, we've distanced our friendship
my emotions run high as your blood  continues to drip
I wish I could suffer what you suffer in your place
no one should suffer such a disgrace
you don't deserve this hurt and pain
your life should be happy and full of gain.
