FOR MY GRANDSONS The first poem I wrote ten years ago |
| As I am sitting in the sun, to start this day that just begun. I sit and think and write with fear, that the day that soon appears, Is filled with heartache and such pain, the kind in which I can't detain. The cares, the worries, and the woes, Is this to much for me to tow? A baby that will soon appear, is a boy I'll hold him dear. Can I protect him from this pain, of our world and his domain? To you he might be just a boy. To me he'll fill my heart with joy. The reason now I must go on. The reason now I will be strong. The reason tomorrow has no end. A brand new journey will begin |
