A Clean Desk

It's pointless!

I have a little plaque on my desk.

My hubby doesn’t like it.

He is a rather neat and organized man.

I am a little bit messy.

My little plaque says:

A clean desk is the sign of a sick mind.

It means that if my desk is organized

My mind isn’t doing what it likes to do best.

I bought this plaque because it was magnetic,

But then I found no place on my desk it could stick.

So it just sits there, sometimes falling over

Into the mess.

Hubby cleaned my desk the other day.

I about had a heart attack.

Things weren’t in their usual place

And missing was that little plaque.

I found it in the kitchen,

Attached to the fridge door.

I read the plaque…

“A clean desk is the sign of a sick mind”

I looked at the fridge door,

Muttering, “that isn’t what it its for.”

I carried my little plaque back to my room.

And put it on my desk.

Then I pulled disks out of plastic boxes,

Strewed them about.

Papers out of folders,

And laid them around.

-

Now it “looks” like I’m sane.

But I hope I’m not alone
