Soul Train

This peice is about someone having their soul devoured in a bad relationship.

That long black train to hell
coal burning in the dark
sears my lungs
steals my breath
no more to live,
no flame
no spark

No spark is seen upon my flesh
to resemble what was once alive
on flesh of flesh
and bone of bones
this demon in me thrives

He thrives to take me as I am
just as he promised once his love
to hold me in the darkened hours
to take from me all trust

Trust , yes peace of mind I crave
from one so strong to hold me still
to give to me a false embrace
then strike at me in want of kill

Kill me , take from me this pain
which you have offered up to me
relieve me of my burdened heart
so that I may be free
