Sitting on the pier
Watching the sun set
It’s so beautiful
The darkness, not yet.

I admire the colour
It’s like a red and gold fox
And a shining coin
In a money box

The pier I’m sitting on
Fits the picture so perfectly
All rickety and wooden
The breeze whispers so softly

Nothing could spoil this evening
This great atmosphere
All the calm in the world
Is centred, right here

The clouds on the horizon,
All stained blood red
Pink, golden and shining,
Are fluffy white beds.

And the water
Reflecting the sunlight
Sparkles and dances
In the approaching night

And now all is finished
The world left in darkness
Can’t wait ‘till tomorrow
The wonder no less
