This is a poem about love that cannot be. a desire so strong it hurts. |
| There is a flame that burns inside me That cannot be heard or seen, It is a flame that burns for love and desire For a love untouched it seems. For the past four years I’ve been aware It haunts me night and day, For a person I care for completely For whom I can never say. It cannot be, it is forbidden If I were to hold onto this love I would never be forgiven. My lord I’m afraid does not allow What I wanted then, And I still long for now, It is a broken heart I have it seems And so it shall always be, How can a love that feels so right Be so wrong for me? I wish I could change my ways And the way I see the world Because I am so completely and totally In love with another girl |
