A poem for my days in Public School. Call me angsty. |
Morning: The hell-bus walk All the way down the cold sand road Peace; melancholy acceptance Of a fate that's worse than death to me Well now it's not the same The six AM gloom light drags on, then fades The driver's smile makes my day A reduction of pain became just the same As a release from the whole bloody thing Every drop of rain was like... A crack in the ice. To smile down on...It's a wonder I never wedged the tip of my boot in And tried to shatter it. |
