The worst betrayal of all - the betrayal of the spirit.

Work through the pain,
work through the rain
that bleeds from my eyes.

This storm in disguise
pretends to be relief
but feels more like defeat
of everything I believe –
I don’t have time to grieve!

Life moves at its pace,
tedious on its face
yet way too fast for me.

I have been deceived.
