This is a strict villanelle form. A very difficult poem for me. |
| Supernova Overflow Shine, shine on so the moon will always know Of sweet loving tension given today. It’s in the nature of the things that glow. The eternal sun, given its own flow, At death’s revolving door will come to say Shine, shine on so the moon will always know. Birds will fly at night if the course that shows The way is shown with the fierce light of day. It’s in the nature of the things that glow. Bright men of the past left footprints in snow. Their light are long gone but their worn path, they Shine, shine on so the moon will always know. Fireflies, with passion, burn up too soon, though, With desire, they throw their weight in the fray. It’s in the nature of the things that glow. You, my friend, supernova overflow, Will always pull the stars in to your sway. Shine, shine on so the moon will always know It’s in the nature of the things that glow. |
