In the Spring 2006 semester during my attendence at Florida International University, I took a creative writing class used as a prerequisite to take two workshop classes offered by the unversity. I thought the class was really unnecessary, but I changed my mind after taking it. I learned how to put some punch in my poetry and to boost imagery without filling the poem with it. The class also taught me the importance of hiding technique and how to use specific yet concise words to drive my message home. Hence, my latest poetry possesses a potent edge I never knew I could execute. To me, these works showcase my poetic evolution.
