The Middle

Written while thinking about an ended relationship and where my life can go from there.

I looked back to the past
It had been so good then
But I knew it was just a memory
I knew it wasn't the now
And you can't live in a memory

I looked forward to the future
There was nothing there
It was a blank space;
waiting for memories to be made
I looked back once more
"Good bye," I said and walked forward
