Why I want to be a writer

I want to be a writer
and I want to live
I want to take the untold stories
and I want to give

I want to be a lover
and share out of my heart
I want my words to hover
and paint healing with my art

I want to be a warrior
on a conquest for what is right
I want to take on battles
'gainst the darkness for the light

I want to be inspired
and I want to create
Take shadows of idea
and with feeling innervate

I want to write something
that really must be read
I want to have something
that really must be said

I want more than vain ambition
with empty words and empty hands
So with my pen upon the paper
I take a breath and take a chance
