Drivel

Somewhat "off", this is just random words coming to me.

Meaningless drivel pours forth
Blocking the sound of silence.
Darkness engulfs all beings
Stopping the light from shining.

Words are merely shields
To block away the pain.
Feelings that are showing
Are hiding all the shame.

Incredulous, you ponder
These words I have to say.
Then you sit and stare,
As I turn and walk away.

No matter the occasion,
No matter what the date,
Some feelings are of love,
Some feelings are of hate.

Sitting in the shadows,
I listen to you talk.
You don't know I am here,
Though by you I do walk.

So listen to me closely,
I'll not say this again;
With fists I cannot hurt you,
But surely can with pen.
