As shadows fall, they hide the tears

That hurt, It seemed so far away.
The cry that made me run astray,
How could I forget?

The love I held so dear to me,
Is now a distant memory.
Those nights we slept side by side,
The hurt I still feel, I try to hide...

Shapshots of days gone by,
Play through my mind night after night.
As the dove hums a tune for me,
I sing a descant melody.

As rose petals fall, and catch my tears,
I say "goodbye" to the shadows,
That hung a veil over my silent years.
