Only One

A poem to express how alone we can feel even when surrounded by a crowd.

Only One


A hundred stray thoughts
To distract my mind;
Each one demands my attention.
But, they are many;
I am only one.

I have many dreams,
Only a few will be realized;
The rest will die in agony.
Not enough time,
I am only one.

So many voices to be heard.
In the murmuring sea,
A tiny wave is lost.
And I am only one
Among many.
