An attempt at poetry, as seen through my eyes here in Baghdad. |
| If you have read my first entry, you know that I live in Baghdad, working for the U.S. Army. While I am a published author, I have never tried my hand at poetry. This is my first attempt at public poetry. Please let me know what I am doing right and wrong -- I take constructive criticism very well. Thank you for reading my first works. Into the Fight Boom! Boom! Boom! Goes the night; Their Kevlar is pulled on nice and tight. The rockets red glare, it gives such a scare, But our soldiers will stay for the fight. The desert is brown and dusty, And the equipment, it gets very rusty. Then who should appear, in all of his gear, But the General, formal and musty. Boom, Boom! Boom! Goes the night, Their Kevlar is still pulled on tight. The officer says go, and let it be so, As the troops rush off into the light. |
