I love this poem. I mean love too, not just like. I love this poem for several reasons.
The rhyme scheme isn't over whelming; it's subtly done. Which really leaves the reader to feel the poem more and what the poem is saying. The last verse breaks the pattern but because the ending sounds have already been used in the poem, it works really well.
I love this poem because it sounds like a blessing or a prayer. Now if you're not religious or don't have a bent to religion, please take this as a complement. I mean blessing or a prayer in a sense that this poem sounds tender and vulnerable and very feeling. I also love how this poem is so universal. It could apply to a child, like a lullaby almost; a parents' hope for the future. Or this poem is a love note to a lover or a whole family. Or the rally prayer before an athletic event, the strength of knowing that peace and pilgrims will prevail is a beautiful and strong image. Or this poem is a last prayer for a loved one who is passing on. That's a little dark but the tenderness, yet hope and strength in this poem really lends to a moment like this. I love it! Kind of reminds me of Robert Frost, his poetry has a tone like this. Thank you for sharing :)
