Cute story, but no real mystery, especially for anyone who has handled dogs. I actually remember seeing a similar story line in a Columbo movie years ago. Still, it's always good to see someone using a murder weapon other than a gun. Keep writing, I especially liked the first paragraph and the description of the cane.
