This made me laugh! I love the concept of the child potentially saving the entire world just by raising a water pistol. So typical of the mother to say "what now?" This is such a short piece, but it says so much more than what is actually written, and it paints a perfect picture of the child character because it shows one of two things:

1.This kind of thing either happens a lot, and his mother never believes him
2. The child is usually fibbing, but the one time he isn't his mother doesn't believe him.

Either way, this is a great piece of writing. Sometimes simplicity can help to say so much more than ther complex, and in your case you hit it spot on. Great work!
