This is quite an interesting poem. Your mention of purgatory to your own relationship really leaves the reader to think about the inner workings of the relationship in a very specific way. It is a great way to "hit home" to people. Not to mention I love the last line, it ends the poem perfectly and I would suggest no changes. Keep on writing!
