Hi. I received your story in the random review.

This line "I hope my dad remembers to pick me up." got me right away. It took my mind right back to waiting for my dad to pick me up from swim practice back in the 80s. I know that anxiety. And you bring the theme up again later "And his dad better hurry because they close the doors in thirty minutes."

Nice. I really like your opening paragraph. It drew me in...and who would have thought a paragraph about a sidewalk would do that. :)

The dialogue in the first half works well. It flows. Less so that last few lines. Maybe because I wanted more from George there.

And I was waiting for squirrel footprints. I was disappointed it was glitter. Hate glitter. But that might just be me. :)
