Oh, that is really beautiful. Your writing style is very developed, and the last stanza is very powerful. Write on! You have a lot of talent, and a real sensitivity for world issues to go with it.

Oh this was fantastic! I really enjoyed how you are able to talk about not only that people consume too much, but why they do. If I had one issue with this otherwise really great piece, I would suggest that you talk a little more about why the hospital fills the void in her. Otherwise-perfect!
