Your introduction, which described a poor hungry child living in a farmhouse, immediately grabbed my attention. When I discovered that the child was Mary McLeod Bethune, your story was not only interesting, but educational and inspirational. Your writing made me want to know more about the details of her life. I was not certain what Mayesville was in the story, but I did Google it. Thank you.

I enjoyed the rhyme and the moral to the story about war and peace. I think it should be far-off land instead of far off. Your ending is memorable.
