Correct me if I am wrong but the poem is trying to portray that the main character/Narrator has strong feelings for his/her new home. While the intention of this looms in the readers mind it doesn't really delve too deep into his/her emotions but rather gives a brief physical description of the place. While it gives the impression that the main character/narrator is going through great lengths to improve the home I'd like to know more about how he/she felt throughout that journey.
