The Administrator of New Horizons Academy, katzendagonz (Sarah) has passed away. Here's a Facebook entry from her daughter yesterday. My mom peacefully went to be with the Lord early yesterday morning with her kitty right by her side. We are so proud of her for choosing to live and die her way. It was perfect for her. She truly enjoyed her last days at home surrounded by her favorite things, beautiful flowers and spring weather, her sweet kitty and those who love her. She really did feel complete. What an amazing gift. God is so Good! What peace we have in knowing Him!
I remember seeing her around here a lot over the years.
Thank you for letting us know. She was an amazing force on WDC as the creator of the New Horizons Academy.
Ms. Katz was always willing to help the members of WDC. I took her classes and she was an inspiration. For years after the classes, Ms. Katz would happily answer any writing questions I had. She was well known around the site and I, as well as many others, will miss her.

Today marks six weeks since my back surgery (lower lumbar fusion) which successfully eliminated the nerve pain I’ve been afflicted with for years. It’s a slow recovery—six to eight months—but I am getting stronger with less surgical pain every day and can now walk a few hundred feet without my trusty walker. Physical therapists come to the house and work with me twice a week. Soon I hope to be driving again. Cabin fever has set in and the immobility gets me down sometimes. But there are many small household chores I can do, and I’m even able to help my brother with a bit of Christmas decorating around our house. Thanks for all your support and prayers. I don't know what I'd do without my WDC family.
In a lot of pain, but progressing everyday. The back surgery was a success. I'm now in rehab for a couple of weeks.
Several years ago, They almost got me under the knife, but my uncle sent me his inversion table and after two years of misery, of pain and no sleep, no sitting, no standing, no walking, no anything but constant agony, I tried it the week before my scheduled surgery to fuse my spine. I did five minutes at a time, five times a day for five days, then canceled the surgery. I know they don't work for everyone but it did for me, I just wish I had done it sooner instead of wasting all that time with useless doctors and chiropractors. I will offer the big guy my most sincere apologies for my occasional backsliding and pray he provides you a speedy recovery.
| Did you watch during game 6 when the announcers showed that Sports Illustrated cover from 2014 with ( I think it was Springer on the cover & the main story you could see it bold Print was "Meet Your 2017 World Series Champions?
